Colorado Governor To Become 15th To Visit Cuba Since 1999

The Honorable John Hickenlooper (D), Governor of the State of Colorado, will visit the Republic of Cuba from 2 February 2017 to 5 February 2017.  Governor Hickenlooper will be the fifteenth (15th) governor to visit the Republic of Cuba since 1999.

Denver, Colorado-based Biennial Of The Americas (www.biennialoftheamericas.org), a non-profit organization, is coordinating the visit to the Republic of Cuba.  Governor Hickenlooper is the Honorary Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Representatives of Colorado-based companies are participating in the visit; the names of the companies have not been published.

Governor Hickenlooper will be paying the expenses for him and his wife.  Biennial Of The Americas will be paying the expenses of Mr. Doug Friednash, Chief of Staff to the Governor.  Two security officers will accompany the Governor, as required by state statute; their expenses will be paid by the state of Colorado.
